Buck Director, ITTATC State IT Accessibility Initiatives 518-439-1263 | deborah.buck@ittatc.org Deborah Buck has over 20 years experience working in the field of disability and technology. In 2003, Ms. Buck joined the Information Technology Technical Assistance and Training Center (ITTATC), at Georgia Institute of Technology, as the Director of State IT Accessibility Initiatives. Prior to joining the ITTATC Project, Ms. Buck was the Accessibility Program Manager at the NYS Office for Technology where she was responsible for accessibility-related policy and program development. For 10 years, Ms. Buck served as the Director of the NYS TRAID Project- NY's Assistive Technology Project, at the NYS Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities where she was involved in several state and corporation-based activities related to information technology and telecommunications accessibility. She holds a MS, Rehabilitation Counseling from the University at Albany, NY and a BA, Sociology from Bishops University, PQ, Canada. Mary Henthorn Manager, Technology Investigation Center, Arkansas Office of Information Technology 501-682-4307 | Mary.henthorn@mail.state.ar.us Mary Henthorn has been the Manager of the Arkansas Technology Investigation Center (TIC) since June of 1998. The TIC researches, tests and demonstrates the use of information technology to identify practical solutions for Arkansas State Government. They have been involved with accessibility issues since the enactment of Arkansas' law, Information Technology Access for the Blind, in 1999. The TIC tests software and state websites as part of their normal duties. They have been accepting interns who have visual impairments from a local MCSE training program since 2001. Ms. Henthorn has a B.S. in Computer Science and training in research through the National Science Foundation. She is working towards a Masters in Computer Science at UALR. She has over 30 years of IT experience with state and federal agencies. Michael Morris Chair, ITTATC State IT Initiatives Workgroup 202-521-2930 | mmorris@ncbdc.org Michael Morris is the chair of the Information Technology Technical Assistance and Training Center (ITTATC) State Initiatives Workgroup and Associate Director with the Law, Health Policy and Disabilities Center at the University of Iowa College of Law. The State IT Initiatives Workgroup is an ITTATC group that collaborates with the RESNA Technical Assistance Project and the Association of Tech Act Projects (ATAP). Earlier in his career, Mr. Morris worked at the United Cerebral Palsy Association, and was counsel to the U.S. Senate Small Business Committee. He was the first-ever Joseph P. Kennedy Fellow in Public Policy and worked for former Senator Lowell Weicker of Connecticut. Steve Noble Policy Analyst, Kentucky Assistive Technology Service Network 502-327-0022 x268 | Steve.Noble@mail.state.ky.us Since July of 2000, Steve Noble has served as Policy and Funding Analyst for the Kentucky Assistive Technology Service Network. Past employment includes service as Manager of Product Development for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic in Princeton, New Jersey, from 1998 to 2000, where he conducted national consumer research studies to support the development of the new digital talking book technology. Mr. Noble has served as Contributing Editor to the journal "Information Technology and Disabilities" since its inception in 1994. Mr. Noble also serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Unit of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic as well as the Learning Disabilities Association of Kentucky, and serves as a member of the American Foundation for the Blind Textbook and Instructional Materials Solutions Forum. Bill Pierce Indiana Information Technology Oversight Commission 317-233-2009 | bpierce@itoc.state.in.us Bill Pierce is a systems consultant with the state of Indiana Information Technology Oversight Commission. He has over 30 years of experience in Indiana state government including applications development, computer operations management, technical support management, project management, director of the Year 2000 Office, and enterprise architecture. Since August 2001, Mr. Pierce has been leading the Assistive Technology Standards Group that is responsible for establishing the state's assistive technology policy. He also participates on the Indiana State Webmaster's 508 Accessibility Working Group. Kathy Record IT Management Analyst, State Government IT Accessibility, Maine Office of the Chief Information Officer 207-624-7573 | Kathy.Record@maine.gov After growing up in the Hartford Connecticut area, attending college in New York, and working in Boston, Ms. Record set down roots in Readfield, Maine, with her husband and three children. She has worked in both the public and private sectors for the past twenty-five years in the field of Information Technology, starting out as a programmer and progressing through the ranks to a management position and member of the executive management team at her last job. Ms. Record has experience in a variety of IT environments including mainframe, distributed systems, networks and personal computers. She has recently accepted employment at the Office of the Chief Information Officer as an IT Analyst with one of her emerging responsibilities being information technology accessibility. Ms. Record enjoys challenges and is looking forward to those that are certain to be ahead. |
