2.1 Source DataThe source data for the development of this vision was the data collected in a series of structured interviews of visionaries in the field of accessible design. This data is documented in Fain, Cianciolo, Whaley, and Hancock (2001). A general description of the participants in the survey as well as the survey methods and overall results are documented in that report and will not be repeated here. 2.2 Specific TopicsThe following topics were of specific interest in developing the vision:
2.3 ProcedureData from each visionary, as summarized in Fain, Cianciolo, Whaley, and Hancock (2001), were reviewed by a senior human factors professional (the first author of the present report), and the specific opinions that were judged to be optimistic and visionary were identified. These opinions were then blended into a coherent vision of the future of accessible information technology. |
